Book your ticket to Italy! Wine by the Vines, an Asheville wine dinner series at Gemelli, takes place the third Wednesday of the month. Each dinner transports you to a different region. Explore Italy’s various regional cuisines and wine through this 5-course dinner and wine pairing. $65 per person. Gluten-free and vegetarian diets can be accommodated with advance notice.

The September 18th dinner focuses on the beautiful Italian island of Sardinia, where high-quality products like pecorino and goat’s curd cheeses, artichoke, and saffron flavor pastas like fregola (akin to Middle Eastern couscous) and culurgiones (stuffed pasta). Meat dishes lean into seafood—think char-grilled eels, crustaceans, sea bass, and tuna. Almonds and honey flavor many desserts. And for wine, Cannonau (aka Grenache), Vermentino, and Carignan are the island’s most famous.
